Towing and the claim are two different things
A AAA membership and a AAA insurance policy are not the same product. Roadside assistance and towing come with the membership; the repair is paid under the auto policy. If your car is not drivable, use your membership for the tow, or call us at (323) 661-6600 and we will arrange towing through our third-party partner.
What the process looks like
- Open the claim. Report it through AAA.com, the AAA mobile app or your local Auto Club branch. Note the claim number.
- Free estimate. Drive in during opening hours. We inspect the car, list the parts and labour, and take a complete photo set.
- Submission. The estimate and photos go to your AAA adjuster under the claim number.
- Approval or supplement. If damage turns up once panels come off, we document it and request a supplement rather than leaving it unrepaired.
- Repair and refinishing. Body work, replacement parts, paint matched to your factory colour, reassembly and a final check.
- Pick-up. You settle the deductible; AAA pays the approved balance.

Yes. The vehicle owner chooses the repair facility in California. AAA can recommend a shop, but you are free to use The Body Shop Collision Repair in Hawthorne and your claim is handled the same way.
Do you work with AAA insurance?
We accept all insurance companies, AAA included. Bring the claim number and we take care of the estimate, the photo documentation and the adjuster.
Is my AAA membership the same as my AAA insurance?
No. The membership covers roadside assistance and towing; the auto policy pays for the repair. They are handled separately, although both may be under the AAA name.
