Motorcycle body and paint work in Hawthorne

Most collision shops in the South Bay will not take a motorcycle. We will. Tanks, fairings, fenders, side panels and covers — damage repaired, surfaces prepared and refinished, colour matched to the rest of the bike. It is the same craft as car body work carried out on smaller, more visible parts, where every flaw sits at eye level and there is nowhere for a poor blend to hide.

What we work on

Low-side and drop damage is the most common: scraped tank corners, ground-down fairing edges, scuffed engine covers and mirror stalks. We also see split fairings and cracked plastics from parking falls, tank dents, faded and lacquer-damaged paint on bikes that live outside, and full colour changes on rebuilds. On sport bikes the fairing panels have to line up with each other as precisely as they did new, so reassembly matters as much as paint.

Matching a motorcycle finish

Bike paint is unforgiving. Panels are small, curved and viewed from close range, and manufacturers use deep metallics, candies and pearls that read differently as the light moves along a curve. Matching to the paint code alone is rarely enough, particularly on a bike that has spent a few California summers outdoors. We match to the parts in front of us and blend where the shape allows, so a repaired tank panel does not sit a shade away from the side cover next to it.

After a motorcycle accident

If you were hit by a car, the claim works exactly as it does for a vehicle: we photograph the damage, write the estimate, send it to the adjuster and file a supplement if something else appears once panels come off. Bring the claim number and the other party details if you have them. We can also work directly with you if you would rather not involve an insurer at all — on a single scraped fairing that is often the cheaper path.

In California the choice of repair facility belongs to the vehicle owner. Your insurer may recommend a shop from its network, but you can bring the car here and your claim stays valid. We accept all insurance companies, take the damage photos, speak with the adjuster and file a supplement if hidden damage shows up during disassembly.

Motorcycle repair: common questions

Do you really work on motorcycles, or just cars?

Both. Motorcycle body and paint work is a normal part of what we do, not an exception we make occasionally.

Can you repair a cracked fairing or does it need replacing?

A contained crack in an otherwise sound panel can often be repaired and refinished. Panels that are shattered, distorted or missing mounting points are better replaced.

Can you match candy or pearl paint?

We match to the parts on the bike rather than to the code alone and blend where the shape allows. Deep metallics and pearls are the hardest case, and we will be straight with you about what is achievable.

I dropped the bike in a car park. Is that worth an insurance claim?

Often not. A single scraped fairing or scuffed cover may cost less than your deductible, so we give you the written estimate first and you decide.

Do you paint a whole bike for a rebuild?

Yes, including colour changes. Bring the panels or the bike and we will work through the plan with you.

How long does a motorcycle repair take?

Usually a few days for one or two panels, longer if parts are on order or if the bike needs a full refinish.

Can I bring just the panels rather than the whole bike?

Yes. If you can remove the tank or fairings safely, bringing the parts is often the simplest option and can shorten the job.

Do you handle claims where a car hit my motorcycle?

Yes. We document the damage, deal with the adjuster for the third-party claim and file a supplement if disassembly shows more.
